OUR PROCESS
For Designing, Building & Installing Your Ideal Video Production Studio
What is our process for designing, building and installing a video production studio?
Once you've chosen us to design and create your video production studio, the fun begins! Here's a breakdown of what that process can look like for you.
PHASE 1: DISCOVERY & RESEARCH
To start the process, we'll spend time talking with you to better understand your studio needs. Our goals are to help you meet all of your needs and wishes, and to build the studio that's right for you.
Our team leader on your project is Greg Ball. He began designing studios from the start of his career, and he also has over 25 years of experience as a highly successful corporate video producer/director/editor. This gives him the ability to ask the right questions and to make the right suggestions. He understands how to design your custom studio, both from a technical angle and from the perspective of someone who's worked in many studios.
Some of what we'll want to know includes:
- Exactly what sort of videos will you be shooting? For example, interviews, demonstrations, panel discussions, green screen, ads?
- Will you be converting space or building new?
- How much space will you have?
- What will your staff consist of? Will you bring in subcontractors or will they be full time staff. And if you're hiring a staff, how many and what positions do you plan to hire?
- What are your products and services like? If you sell physical goods, what size are they?
- Describe your corporate culture and environment.
- What is the work flow like?
- Will there be multiple projects produced at the same time?
- What type of video approval process will you implement?
- Are you planning on outfitting the studio with new equipment?
- And finally, what is your budget?
These are just a few of the things we'll be looking into.
PHASE 2: DESIGN & ENGINEERING
From here, we'll bring on our team of designers, engineers and integrators. They'll determine exactly what equipment is needed. We'll also connect with your architects and general contractors, and review their blueprints and schematics of your space. At this point, we'll order your equipment.
Our team will take the drawings and overlay your studios' required wiring over them. They'll also be drawing in other vital information for your contractors to use. This will include information on power requirements, conduit runs and air conditioning ducts. Once this is complete and approved, it's time to move to the next phase.
PHASE 3: SPACE BUILD OUT & REVIEWING THE SPACE
Now, your general contractor will build out your space. It's time to schedule an on-site visit with Greg and his team. They'll need to confirm that the space was built to their specifications. If everything is on point, great! It's time to move forward. If not, they'll let you know what's not in sync and they'll talk to your general contractor if necessary.
PHASE 4: SYSTEM FABRICATION/INSTALLATION
Really, phase 3 and phase 4 begin at the same time. We'll test all of your equipment that we purchased in our facility. Then we'll ship it to your location. We pull all the cables at your location. Then we'll install the equipment. If there's anything we need to build such as a cyc, we'll build that now.
PHASE 5: FINAL SYSTEMS TEST/QUALITY ASSURANCE
We'll put your facility into full operation mode. And we'll simulate actual productions to make sure everything is working perfectly. When we're done, you can be sure that all will be in excellent working condition.
PHASE 6: TRAINING
At this point, your studio is complete and working well. Now we'll take the time to train your staff on-site.
We'll make sure they have a working knowledge of the equipment, and we'll answer any questions they have. Our people are excellent and highly experienced at teaching. We're all about getting your people comfortable and capable with their new studio.
PHASE 7: WE'LL CHECK IN ON YOU
We'll keep in touch to make sure everything is working well. And we'll make sure your happy with the results and the process.
