Every successful studio begins with smart, strategic planning. We take your project from concept through design, construction, equipment procurement, integration, training and launch—delivering a studio tailored to your goals, budget and timeline.
Our team leader on your project is Greg Ball. He began designing studios early in his career and has extensive experience as a corporate video producer, director and editor. This gives him the ability to ask the right questions and make practical recommendations based on both the technical requirements of a studio and the perspective of someone who has worked in many studios.
WHY DISCOVERY MATTERS
A well-designed studio starts with the right questions. Before we recommend equipment, establish camera positions or develop the studio layout, we need to understand how your organization will use the space. The information we gather during discovery helps us create a studio that supports your workflow today while giving you the flexibility to grow.
The first step in designing the right studio is understanding exactly what you need. We’ll spend time with you discussing your goals, your space, your workflow and how you plan to use the studio. This information becomes the foundation for the entire project.
SOME OF WHAT WE’LL DISCUSS
What types of productions will you be creating?
Are you converting an existing space or building a new one?
What products or services will you be showcasing?
What does your production workflow look like?
What is your budget?
From here, we bring in our team of designers, engineers and integrators. Together, they determine the equipment, systems and infrastructure needed for your studio. We also work directly with your architects and general contractors, reviewing their blueprints and schematics to make sure the studio requirements are properly incorporated into the space.
We then take the architectural drawings and overlay the studio’s required wiring and infrastructure. This includes power requirements, conduit runs, equipment locations and other information your contractors need during construction. At this stage, we also finalize equipment selections and begin the procurement process.
Once the drawings and engineering plans are complete and approved, we’re ready to move into construction and installation.
Now, your general contractor will build out your space. It’s time to schedule an on-site visit with our team. They’ll need to confirm that the space was built to their specifications. If everything is on point, great! It’s time to move forward. If not, they’ll let you know what’s not in sync, and they’ll talk to your general contractor if necessary.
Before we turn your studio over to your team, we put the entire facility into full operation. We simulate actual productions to make sure the equipment, systems and workflow are working together as designed.
We test the studio under real-world operating conditions, identify and correct any issues, and make sure everything is ready for production.
Phases 3 and 4 begin at the same time. We’ll test all of the equipment we’ve purchased at our facility before shipping it to your location. Once it arrives, we’ll pull the required cables, install the equipment and complete the systems installation.
If there are custom elements that need to be built, such as a cyclorama, we’ll construct those as part of the installation process.
Once your studio is complete and fully operational, we’ll train your team on-site. We’ll make sure they understand how to operate the equipment and systems and have the opportunity to ask questions.
Our goal is to make your team comfortable and capable with their new studio so they’re ready to begin producing.
Our relationship doesn’t end when your studio is complete. We’ll keep in touch to make sure everything is working properly and that your team is comfortable with the new facility.
Whether you’re planning a new studio, upgrading an existing facility, or starting from scratch, we’re here to help.
